Of course you can always go hardcore, but read my advices at the end and then decide. This dude is the pet version of the Horde guild mount. He spawns with a random color five possible , and he does not patrol. All of his spawn points are north of Ramkahen, between the two heavily farmed rivers. Ok, so you have chosen the pet of your dreams, now you need to tame it.
Most dream-pets are heavily camped. You can go and camp it for ages, only to have someone kill it in front of you or tame it while you fall asleep. You need to check spawnpoints every day. Just one time. Of course sometimes you want to camp. Also, sometimes you feel strange and log in at 3 AM, and woop, there is your pet. Listen to your senses, young padawan or something. Also, have a good contact with people in General chat, other hunters, etc. If you have a farmer friend, thats the best.
You can ask him to tell you if he saw something rare. Got naked Got me a level 1 bow With this now doing damage points you can still one shoot him so I killed my self and talked to spirit so I could get resurrection sickness And pew got week enough to shoot conccusive shot and slow fall potion That was it got my tame today. Being a blood elf has the perk of arcane torrent, once I dismounted next to him I used it then disengaged before I hit the ground.
I was able to tame him quite nicely. Dont forget the spectral gryphon! That one is so easy to get if the feather is there at storm wind. My first spirit beast was Acturis, and i had helped taming him as he is near an alliance mini base. My friend cleared the area from intteruptions as i tamed the bear. My second spectral is karoma who was wondering around twilight highlands. Then 3rd one was gondria. It was after that i fled to sholazar basin and got loqnahak 5 mins after gondria.
My 5th spectral was ghostcrawler…. This morning i tamed anhka, after doing mount hyjal quests. A trick i will try is to get a goblin glider. With pet active let the pet scream to get aggro and move banthalos to my ice trap. Then tame her. Hope today i will see the owl again and tame her. Who knows i might also get magria on the way back coz they both have same spawn time. Happy hunting guys! I forgot, before acturis i got hutia friend helped and gumi on my own.
I also tamed sambas out of boredom and collection. But he is not a spirit beast. Have to say my last 3 were Gumi. Degu and Hutia and have completely been slacking the entire of Warlords of Draenor.
Good luck to everyone who is still looking for their missing spawns. I am relieved that I managed to get most of mine before CRZ was introduced. So i was in the middle of taming Skjoll, when a Nelf hunter drops by and one shots me, he is , im 80 So i was like alright.. So i resurrect to find skjoll still standing there.
So i begin taming again and he pops out of stealth just to kill me again.. So im alright, he must really want it. So i resurrected and just stood there waiting for him to tame it, but he just stood there looking at me.
So then i was really confused. I began taming once again just to get one shot once more. This continued about more times and by then I have to admit, i was pretty tilted. He wasnt taming it, he wasnt letting me tame it. Whats his deal? So i pop on my flying mount and just float a good distance between him.
He then laughs at me, makes a rude gesture and then begins taming it. Was I wrong to do so? I know its pretty rude but he had me tilted.. Had been camping Storm Peaks for days. I found Skoll around pm then the next day around I found Gondria, about 5 mins later I got Magria due to a extremely nice Warlock who posted a group for a hunter who wanted to tame Magria.
Good luck taming Loque. Best of luck to you! Yeah that Luck is starting to run out though. Thanks for the tips though!! I wanted to comment about the timers for Magria and Ankha. I tamed both of these fine cats in 24 hours. Actually, I got them more than once.
Below are the approximate times:. As you can see, they can spawn under the 6 hour timer and did so multiple times. I looked for hunters in the area that would want to tame Ankha but none were around so I tamed them shortly after they appeared then abandoned.
I saw him at exactly pm and I saw him killed at exactly am EST! Sad sight! I am new to WoW and only heard about spirit beasts after just before I hit level Ankha and magria has got special abilities that is doing more dmg when u have armor.
It is recommended to be without armor,or they will kill you. Before you start taming,drop freezing trap,and cast Detterence and tame.
Gondria has ability named Pounce,that can interrupt your tame,but just place freezing trap and cast Detterence and tame.
I stumbled apon a hunter today camping arcturis ;P, bein a hunter myself ok what was up! I try to kill him in marksmen ship since he was still flying over head, after that failed I figured I would go to another realm and try and the bear was up lol. The screen shots of him and dead arc are now my background and if you found this amusing.
Keep trolling on!!!???????????? Added Tame BEast to the macro so that all you have to do is land and keep hitting the same button. When I camped these, I always sent and alt or two to kill the other rares in the zone. The programmers at Blizzard re-used old code. Why would they write something from scratch, when there was already code in place that would do the job?
To see how this works, look at mining node. They just adjust the percentages. With that in mind, the spawn timers for all the Northrend pets share the same cooldown. With CRZ, it appears to be hours. So there you go.
Skoll, Loq, and Gondria have the exact same respawn times. I think you are thinking too much about this. They all spawn at about hours. You go about killing stuff around these spirit beasts and you will miss them. I began on Tuesday right after reset and used the hour time as my religion for all the northrend pets except gondria. I just went to gondria and tamed him like it was whateves. I however did use this for Arcturis, Skoll, and Loque. The Cata pets were all so easy to get who cares what you do.
I also found doubles and tipples of some of these beasts. I got Loque the 2nd spawn period of all servers after reset. So I used that info and came back 6 hours later. I waited patiently for 1 hour. He spawned. I got him. All you need to do is simple math. If you can count to 6 and 7 its easy. Find out when they spawn then go get them 6 hours later and wait. If they have multiple spawn points then go to a spawn point and server hop for an hour.
It will be there somewhere. I always liked to collect things in wow. I originally made this hunter to farm invincible then when i learned about spirit beasts i decided to collect them all and i did in less than 2 days.
I have pets, and mounts as well. I only have a problem losing my pet to someone else cause i was off killing something stupid because i felt like manipulating the spawn timer for them to tame it. Love this page…. I only ever tried Hutia b4 and have been killed many times as a 90 BM…decided to give up the spirit beasts for a while. TY for all the info???? Thanks for this website. I have used it to tame all the Spirit Beasts so far. You can no longer land on the tree that I used.
So does anybody have any suggestions on how to solo tame him. He should follow you down and then you can tame him as normal. Depending on your level, you may need to pop Deterrence, but it should be an easy tame now at level 90 or above.

I only heard about spirit beasts recently and they have been on my wish list read- obsession ever since. Have four so far and the info was invaluable in taming and finding them. I Love this website. I come here for all of my hunter questions and needs!! I know the exact times and locations of all the Spirit Beasts. If you need help on obtaining them please let me know… I even will take you to the locations in game to assist in catching them. All I ask is that if you are serious about getting them.
If you are interested then email me a heads up. Yea um I play wotlk. Tamed Loque awhile ago. Have patience. It took me 2 weeks of on off searching and I found him twice. First time he was dead, broke my heart. Second time I found him it was around 6pm on a medium pop server and I managed to tame him. Both times he was at the northern spawn by the bones. Another tip it to keep your current pet dimissed before you start flying.

But you might wanna update the new spamming times, it seems lately there were major changes there for example, Skoll respawned on my server after 7 hours. Got all 3 of the MOP ones today.
As of 5. Unlocked hopefully the correct MH phase, hunters asking in chat about the beasts. Before going to sleep I decided to give Karoma a go. Found at second spawn point I searched, noone in the area, tamed. For the spirit porcupine, we did it with a 3 man group. You gotta be separate from the group.
We used a monk healer so she could throw a bubble on me before she died. He is fast and hits like a mack truck if he catches up to you.
Second best spot is the one west of Skyreach Pillar. I have never seen Loque out at either of the two northern locations or the spot just east of the Nesingwary camp. Got it at one of those spawn points at south west, the one near the river, to be right. Was looking for it about 3 months.
All of sudden Loque spawned right in front of me!! My heart beat so fast and kept beating for the next 10min!!! Started a tame on Arcturis last night and a competing hunter, killed him for me, gee thanks friend, at pm….. With all these areas being combined across servers, it is nearly impossible to see these anymore. Such a shame. Gondria nabbed at realm time in Baelgun, finally after getting skoll quickly this was a pain to search….
Just tamed Arcturis at level 74 today! I only had to camp out for about a half hour. Thanks again for the detailed guide, or I would have never caught him! Much obliged! This is really useful! I have a friend that was able to log on and get Skoll. He just spawned right in front of him.
Just nailed skoll! Baelgun server, am PST Server time? I was shaking sooo bad! Just starting my spirit beast journey. I popped back on and let everyone know that skolls timer had been reset. I am now camping the spot he spawned for me last time, I pre-emptively dismissed my pet and have trap launcher on, I clicked freezing trap then came back to this window.
The plan is that he will spawn within taming range, I will see the screen shake and click once to go back to WoW window, a second time to drop freeze trap, and a third click to start taming. I will prolly go for Loque next. Finally got Gondria today at around a. Took weeks to finally get him.
I got Magria as soon as I logged in the game this morning. I was on the tree where Ban is at and did not see him so I swooped down to check and see if any kitties were there and yep Magria is mine. I gotta say your site has been very useful! The the coords for the tree top that you reference here are I also thought it would be a good thing to add in the walkthrough that an easy way to tell if you are in the correct phase for someone who is not sure is that they should have access to repeatable quests from the NPCs at the Sanctuary of Malorne.
If you see no repeatable quests then you are not in the correct phase. I have been looking for Spirit Beasts all day. Anyone have any info on finding them easier. I have been going to all of the spots for all of the beasts but no such luck.

Comment by Tamed on Lightbringer EU, I went there to look for more quests so I could get the achievement, and decided on the off chance to go and check his spawn points, as I had been quite lucky already that day found Zul'Drak Sentinel, Vyragosa AND tamed Arcturis! I did one circle of the reef, and was just about to head back round when my NPC scan picked him up just at the northern end of the reef!
I dropped to tame and quickly dismissed my pet, but just as I was about to start the tame, he dissapeared. I mounted up, turned and headed southwards spamming the NPC scan target button and he appeared behind me about seconds later. I dropped to tame but he dissapeared again, and reappeared further south about 10 seconds later again. This time I fired a shot at him and immediately started taming. From what I saw, he does dissapear very quickly, so it's best to start the tame asap, but if you don't, he comes back pretty quickly too.

So here it is 3 AM and I go to the Abandoned Reef and start righting towards the northern part of his patrol. I mount my Mechano-Hog because I feel like a badass riding it and I thought I saw him phase out over the hill but I figured it was just me seeing things hoping it would be him.
I keep riding and I see a little yellow dot on my map. I mouse over it and it's none other than the almighty Ghostcrawler himself. Comment by Paulosio The good thing about this pet is that you can't really solo kill him and he's in an area where nobody has any reason to go unless they are specifically looking for him.
Makes him far easier to find than just about any other rare pet. Also found him the only other time I looked when I happened to be nearby Wish Blizzard would give the other rare pets similair abilities or locations so they wouldn't get randomly killed by none hunters who find them by luck. Just after Karoma now and I will have all the rare pets I wanted from this expansion Glad I probably wont be facing another painful search that it took to find Loque.
I immediately hopped on my new to 85 Hunter and found I had no portal to Vash I had not touched the zone since its not a favorite zone of mine. So I had to go through the whole RP event and then I made another mistake of rushing to the spot before the squid attack, so I had no sea legs Hearthed back to Org had to go through the RP even again did the sea leg quest and swam up hopped on a boat hull and flew out there asap.
Got there and I could not find him for the life of me, so I start killing his babies, yes I know its silly and it might get some down ranks but I think killing the Crab hatchings helps to draw him out.

Common spotting area. Comment by Lazurianis Ghostcrawler is impossible to kill. His Nerfbat ability is an AoE so if someone is attacking your Tame Ghostcrawler will turn around and smack you and the attacker. You will both be dead in a matter of seconds because he casts Nerfbat every. So you have to be lucky if it takes 10 Seconds and your not dead. I had I went from 99k HP to 10k in that 4 seconds 4 Reffering to I shot him so it was an extra second. He was at the bottom of the reef and disapeared and waited at that spot he disapeared and he reappeared at that same spot so a nice tip will help y'all out.
Tip: Dont move from where Ghostcrawler last disapeared he will often reappear in that same spot. He is also Immune to Freezing Trap so dont waste your time trying to Freeze him, all that will happen is someone will swoop in and take your tame. Good luck everyone! I put on Tracking Beasts and swim around on my seahorse, and after a few minutes I discover — to my surprise — a yellow dot on the map. My heart is pounding because I saw two Horde players in the same area, I want nothing to screw this up, so I land on the ocean floor and use Deterrence while taming it.
I succeeded, my pet was not happy when it was recently tamed, but I sure was. I'm level 85 with almost full Bloodthirsty and resil when I found him in the North West corner of his path headed south. Funny thing was I accidentally jumped him in my excitement with Skoll out and had to dismiss pet, his AOE Nerfbat bringing me down rapidly as I attempted to do so.
And dead. Only to give up and go call my pet to leave, but what's this? A 4th pet in my collection, and he's a spirit beast! Edit: No Ghostcrawler on the character selection window. Every other spirit beast and popular rare seems to have reasonably well documented spawn times from last tame or kill, but I have found no info yet for Ghostcrawler Comment by zomg5 when people say this guy is crazy to tame i think they mean it. Better look on map plus have Npc scan AND target macro for this - i expected him to be a huge crab, but he is actually only abit bigger than critter sized! Hope this helped! Before I proceed, please I ask all future tamers that you post the time and coordinates of your catch, I strongly urge you to post that aforementioned information. Trust me it will help all future potential tamers and I am very dure they will be greatful.
My Process Tamed: 19,58 I have tamed many rare pets and before I went about taming this pet I did some extensive research. I graphed all the potential spawn points and their perspective times. I based the information taking into account the server maintenance shutdown as a factor, as we all know that during server reset spawn timers are reset, and other relevant information.
When I went about plotting my coordinates and times i came to the conclusion that there was a potential pattern on spawn points and times.
I gathered all the information from this blog for the basis of my research. I went ahead and and listed all the potential spawn points and times to formulate a hypothesis for approximate spawns and my windows of opportunity.
As well all know, at least on my server, after reset servers go online at approximate hours. Based on the information provided by my fellow hunters; therefore, certain spawn points have a 30 minute window of opportunity at the beginning of the hour; however, saw some times where the creature has spawned at the halfway point of the hour probably due to the fact that the beast could have been patting for a while.
For example: For the basis of this example, I am using hours as a starting point by no means a specific time. If server is up at hours, this vacinity spawn points 12,85 - 31,77 is a hot area to tame the crab. For example, - Conclusion First and foremost, when I used the hours of that was used as an example, that does not mean this crab will spawn at hours or after. As well know this creature has a hour spawn timer.
Remember if this pet is killed or tamed the spawn timer will more than likely reset. Once again, hours was used as an example, because I know people will not read the full thread and will be dissappointed when they miss their chance to tame because you did not read the full comment. Next, like stated above all my information was gathered from the other hunters that posted before me. Maybe all the information gathered and my assumptions that were formulated are a coincidence, all I wrote is an approximation its not set in stone.
I understand that the information used was based from other hunters accross varios servers and for the most part all servers are different. But if you do your research and compare all the rares in the game their spawn times the times of taming are all pretty much within the same neighborhood.
Coincidence, maybe? Lastly, I hope this was helpful and not confusing, please do not bash or critique me rather help this post by adding more relevant information that may help another hunter. If you have any question do not hesitate to ask I will try my best to help you, i'll be more than willing to help. Also, do not give up hope or lose sleep over this pet eventually your time will come just takes time and patience. Once again, hope this help do not critique this post rather help it.

Unsure exactly where, but it was on the bottom right hand side around I hadn't planned on taming this one but my boyfriend had been going on about how difficult it was because of the Nerfbat and had calculated you'd need over K health to tame it. He wants it for his hunter but was planning on taking me to heal him!
Having read the above comments though and being bored because I'm off work sick and had nothing better to do I thought I'd give it a go and, apart from the fact it stealthed on me twice, it was remarkably easy to find and I had no problems with it. I have just under 97K health and I think I was down to about a third by the time I was done. Don't think the other half's hunter is lvl 85 yet but when it is I'll take him and show him how it's done!

There were 4 other hunters trying to find him at the time when I got into the zone I guess I got it really, really lucky. Must be some sort of fate because I had no luck for all of the other Spirit Beasts. I have been camping as early as patch 3.

I didn't even know where he spawned. I would assume this has been mentioned before, but just in case people might miss it, he's immune to freezing trap and yes that nerf bat kind of hurts a bit. Been camping the turtle for weeks with no luck, cept for one sighting where I was only 82 and he killed me twice with one tick left to tame Got my hunter to 85 and was lucky enough to find Ghostcrawler on the first try!
On realm Perenolde I was just logging in and out from time to time. Total time maybe 3 HRS. No other hunters around at all when I logged. The area was like a ghost town. I logged on saw the yellow dot on my map, marked him and he faded. I remembered reading that he usually comes back soon and he did, like 30 seconds later. Did not bother marking or dropping a trap since he is immune to frost traps.

I thought his respawn timer was 24 hours, and had seen someone get him yesterday at pm, so came a little early to scare off other hunters. And poof! Sooo lucky! So happy!

When I heard of news about this pet, I decided to, of course, look it up here and read the info. I was shocked at the uniqueness of this pet, both in how it fights and the fact it's the only spectral crab Spirit Beast in the game.
So I went to that area, turned on Track Beasts and look around. Lo and behold, here it is roaming around by itself on the outer portions of the Abandoned Reef. Only one other person, a Hordie, was out here at the time and I didn't know if he was a Hunter or not, looking for it.
Like everyone else said, he does disappear. When he does, he will reappear not far from where he vanished in about seconds. During the taming process, he dealt 40k damage total to me with 4 stacks of the nerfbat. If you are out looking for him, keep in mind he is a very tiny spectral crab. Launch trap out of reflex, resisted and felt the unholy OP freakish fury of the Ghostcrawler nerf bat..
I now have all of the spirit beasts and this one is without a doubt the most difficult, he does give you a beat down with that nerf bat to the ground! Sucker hits like a mack truck on steroids. Not much strategy to it, turn on Track Beasts and Track Hidden, wander around the Section shown above on the map until you see his yellow dot on the mini map not agressive. He will turn hidden about the time you start getting close, so grab him fast or use flare to find him.
Once you start taming, pretty much all you can do is bite your nails and cross your fingers I use the SilverDragon add-on Comment by bateh Got it 20,71 on Tarren Mill, pm. When i finished taming, had 50K HP left, from k. Good luck to everyone who wants this sexy crab.

He is really small but he hits pretty hard! He is immune to freezing traps as previously stated. Very cute little guy! Comment by Eleanos From my experience getting it after seing Karoma spawn in the Twilight Highlands it is much preferable to do the pre-requirement for the area first instead of flying over the Abyssal Depths.
I died 3 times getting him : - First after swimming all the way down Npcscan went off halfway down, hit target button, phased out instantly - Second while looking for it up north - Third time while looking for it down south I ended up taming it halfway through my breathing bar with very little health left.

After camping Skoll, Arcturis, Loque'nahak and Terrorpene for few days without luck i decided to try and see where Ghostcrawler roams these days.
I made one circle spotted some shaman, queue for dungeon just popped up and there he was at I wasn't even in BM spec so i quickly changed spec and tamed my new buddy. I have only done the quests to get my sea legs and my seahorse so that should not effect anyone. Was flying through Vashj'ir herbing and ran into Lady Lala, ten minutes later into Shok'sharak, stopped to get killed by Kolorath, then decided to swing around and look for him out of curiosity and my boyfriend spotted it while I was looking to see how many spots it spawned in. Generally easy tame, wasn't very populated area with other hunters, but definitely need to have some health or a freezing trap to back you up since he took me to about 10k out of 99k.

Marked him but he phased regardless and I was left floundering for 20 or so seconds before he showed up 40 yards to the left of where I'd found him and I was able to tame him. I'd reccomend not camping this dude, rather doing a few laps of the reef every now and then I did it about 3 times a day, 5 days, before I found him , simply because he's so out of the way and basically impossible to kill. Beautiful pet either way, named him Darren.
Comment by trendyusername Tamed him at about 3 PM server on Ursin. I noticed that his health pool was only 1. Maybe that was just X-Perl rounding down. Apparently that is his normal health pool now. Anyways, I saw him up near the northernmost corner of the area he pats for a split second before he stealthed. I only saw him for an instant, so I had no idea where he was, where he was going, or even how fast he was getting there.
Q: Rogues appreciated the original version of Shadow Dance and believed it was totally unique. Do you have plans to implement the original feature later? R: No. The repeated Slow interrupts caused by chaining Vanish were too good and basically rendered the rogue immune to Slow and Root for the duration of Shadow Dance.
We had no intention of it being Bladestorm. Community Team: Going into the Subtlety specialization a bit, many rogues are huge fans of Subtlety and have expressed similar concerns about this specialization, such as the damage it deals compared to Assassination and Combat.
Q: Players have the feeling that Subtlety captures the essence of a rogue as most of their abilities revolve around stealth and utility. How do you think this specialization is working now and where do you think it will be in the future? R: The damage lags behind the other specs in PvE, and due to all the great utility tools, Subtlety would immediately become the default spec in PvE if the damage were comparable.
In the future, we would like it to be competitive, but it is an interesting balance between too good and not good enough. It has a place in PvP and should be more compelling after 3. In the long term, we'd like to see more utility talents from the Subtlety core on the Rogue class in general, or alternatively, we'd like to see more of the damage buffs from the other branches made passive for rogues in all branches. They would choose utility versus utility when choosing their talents, rather than utility versus harm.
Community Team: We'd like to touch on various aspects of the rogue's PvE game. Let's get started. Q: For both parties and raids, raid buffs and debuffs offer great benefits to improve the effectiveness of your party members in most PvE encounters.
While Rogues have abilities like Expose Armor, Blindness, and Blow, do you have any plans to add utilities later? R: Yes, the question is where to add them and how to do it without destroying the balance of the tightrope that separates the specializations we move between in PvE and PvP, and without giving them too much access to the damage potential of PvE in PvP.
We believe that Secrets of the Trade is a fun utility ability that allows the rogue to feel smart when used optimally. We want to make sure the rogues have enough group perks for the raids they currently have Expose Armor, Mind Stun Poison, Master Poisoner, Wounding Poison, and Savage Combat , but the damage from the rogues is enough to make them quite a team member.
Q: Most of a rogue's damage seems to come from white damage. We've seen developers mention in the past that they were going to improve this to prevent it from being the main source of damage. With the recent changes to abilities such as Mutilate and Hash, players would also like to know how exactly you plan to change this aspect for Rogues.
R: Rogues' use of abilities is a very significant part of their damage, and rogues who use their abilities and timers cleverly perform much better than those who don't. So we have no plans to make any significant changes to this, as it is an interesting distinction between the rogue and more ability-focused classes like the Death Knight.
Providing their abilities with more damage also increases the damage in a class that already deals a lot of burst damage. Q: Cooldowns are another topic that is often discussed in the rogue community. Rogues understand that they are strong and efficient when they have cooldowns available, but likewise feel somewhat constrained by the limitation of various cooldowns for their class.
What do you think of the cooldowns on abilities that deal damage? R: In the dungeons they are absolutely right: one of the downsides of increasing the damage done so well in a raid scenario is that you have to start lower. They're now better than before in dungeons due to Bludgeon being reliable, but still not great compared to a melee or thaumaturge hybrid. On the bands they are great and if they do not contribute effectively to the damage inflicted in that scenario, the problem is between the keyboard and the chair.
